ESFA VISITS FISpT & BSFA

The Egyptian Sport for All Federation (ESFA) delegation led by Mr.  Safwat Montassir, Chairman of the Board paid a visit to the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) and the Bahrain Sport for All Federation (BSFA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the period from January 16th to 20th, 2010.

Iran Joins FISpT

In a ceremony held at the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) temporary headquarters in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Mostafa Ajourlou, Manager Sport Organization, Municipality of Tehran and Mr. Isa Mohamed Abdulrahim, President, FISpT signed a contract in which the Municipality of Tehran, Iran (Sport Organisation) will benefit from various activities organized by FISpT. Mr. Isa Mohamed Abdulrahim, President, FISpT and the IOC Sport for All Commission member will be in Lausanne, Switzerland on June 18th & 19th to attend the Commission meeting chaired by Mr. Walther Tröger. During the above period, two celebrations will be held. The first one will be the Olympic Day celebration on June 18th and the second one will be the 25th Anniversary of the IOC Sport for All Commission on June 19th.

VETERAN International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Walter Troger gave two thumps up for the outstanding efforts of International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) board, led by its president Isa Abdulrahim, during the three-day congress which gets underway today at Al Safir Hotel's conference hall in Manama.

Troger, who is also the FISpT director, is presently in Bahrain to witness the preparations to host this congress of the federation which premises was recently shifted to the island from Brussels in Belgium. He praised the true intentions of the federation's new board to implement into activities and programmes after a long break during the previous board.

SPORT FOR ALL IN BAHRAIN

A TWENTY-MEMBER Executive Bureau of the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) are set to meet tomorrow (SATURDAY) in a three-day congress commencing at 6am (GMT Time) at Al Safir Hotel's conference hall in Manama.

The congress, to be held under the patronage of General Organization for Youth and Sports president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, will take place in the kingdom of Bahrain for the first time ever.

FISpT president Isa Abdulrahim of Bahrain will be chairing the congress, which aims to implement the programmes and activities of the federation and also arrange a complete plan for the next five years.

Abdulrahim, who is also president of the Bahrain Sports For All Federation, will be briefing the bureau members on the federation's events and its calendar for this season.

Bureau members will represent several countries from Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East as they started arriving yesterday.

Also attending the meeting will be veteran International Olympic Committee (IOC) member and director of FISpT Walter Troger.

On arrival, Troger and the executive bureau officials were welcomed by Abdulrahim who said he is delighted to have this congress for the first time in Bahrain since the federation premises has been moved from Brussels in Belgium.

Abdulrahim thanked Troger for accepting his invitation to witness the congress and expressed appreciation to the IOC on its continued support to the FISpT.

Meanwhile, general secretary and member of the Bahrain Sport for All Federation Osama Al Kooheji confirmed that the federation has finalized its preparations to host the congress.

Al Kooheji said a special booklet was printed on this occasion and will be distributed during the congress.

He added that the executive bureau members have all reached Bahrain in different flights during the past two days and they took part yesterday (FRIDAY) in a Walk Festival which was held at the 'Al Ghous Coast' in Manama.

Al Kooheji extended his gratitude the General Organization for Youth and Sports, especially its president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, for backing the federation programmes.

The congress, to be held over the next four days, will be attended by 20 members of the bureau representing countries from Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East, who started arriving yesterday.

It will be held under the patronage of General Organization for Youth and Sports president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

Mr. Isa Abdulrahim, President of the FISpT and the Bahrain Sport For All Federation, will chair the congress which takes place at the main conference hall in presence of International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Walter Troger.

Mr. Troger, the former German Olympic Committee president, will be meeting Mr. Abdulrahim and other sports officials during his first-ever visit to the kingdom.

On his part, Mr. Abdulrahim welcomed the bureau members in Bahrain, adding that he is honored that the island is hosting this congress for the first time after the FISpT premises were moved from Belgium.

"The congress aims to implement the activities and programmes of the federation through the continued support of the IOC," said Mr. Abdulrahim.

The FISpT President extended gratitude to Mr. Troger for accepting his invitation to attend this function, confirming that Mr. Troger's presence in this congress is a major booster for the federation to exert more efforts

"It will be the first time that an official from the IOC is attending the FISpT's congress for over 25 years and we are very much delighted for this support from Mr. Troger," said Mr. Abdulrahim.

Mr. Troger's visit was arranged by Mr. Abdulrahim during his trip to Malaysia where he chaired the FISpT congress held last year.

On his part, FISpT general secretary and member of the Bahrain Sport for All Federation Mr. Osama Al Koohiji said all procedures have been arranged for this congress, adding that a special booklet was printed on this occasion.

Mr. Al Koohiji expressed appreciation to the General Organisation for Youth and Sports, under its president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, for his continued support to the federation.
